Wolfpack netters shut out Holmes 9-0

WESSON – The No. 19 Copiah-Lincoln Community College Wolfpack shut out Holmes Community College Bulldogs 9-0 in tennis action on Wednesday. The Wolfpack swept all three doubles all six singles matches. Prior to the match, Co-Lin tennis coach Brenda Smith honored her three sophomore players, Sebastian Osorio, Juan Pablo Pinilla, and Tripp Case.

"The men pitched their first shut out of the season.," said Smith. "It was satisfying to see the sophomores winning on the day we honored them."

In doubles action, No. 1 Sebastian Osorio and Juan Pablo Pinilla defeated Dallas Elmore and Marcus Montfort 8-3. Tripp Case and Tripp Wyatt beat Joshua Maughan and Nic Bails 8-2 at No. 2 and Braden Ishee and Sebastian Harrell took care of Christopher Stuckey and Hernandez 8-4 at No. 3.

In singles action, No. 1 Osorio blanked Elmore 6-0, 6-0 and Pinilla defeated Montfort 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2. At No. 3, Case took care of Jacob Hawkins 6-0, 6-2 and Ishee beat Maughan 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4. Co-Lin's Wyatt beat Bails 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5 and Harrell rallied back to defeat Rylee Artman 2-6, 6-2, 10-7 at No. 6.

The Wolfpack host Itawamba on Friday with matches beginning at 2 p.m.
