Tennis Drop Matches Against Gulf Coast

WESSON – The Co-Lin Men's and Women's Tennis teams returned to MACCC play hosting Gulf Coast on Friday, March 7. The Wolves and Lady Wolves lost their matches by identical 0-9 scores.

In the women's doubles matches, the Lady Wolves dropped all three matches by identical 2-8 scores with Yariange Bello (Caracas, Venezuela) and Munashe Bera (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) dropping one doubles, Georgina Labusch (Verl, Germany) and Sophie Sisson (Moss Point) dropped two doubles, while Ann-Clark Van (Jayess) and Allie Grace McNeill (Brookhaven) dropped three doubles.

In the singles matches, Bello fell in one singles (6-2, 1-6, 7-10), Bera dropped two singles with identical 1-6 set scores. Labusch fell in three singles by identical 0-6 scores, Sisson dropped four singles with identical 2-6 sets while Van lost in five singles with identical 1-6 set scores. McNeill dropped six singles (7-5, 3-6, 6-10).

In the men's doubles matches, Ege Altas (Istanbul, Turkey) and Jake Bucek (Geelong Australia) dropped a close match in one doubles at 7-9 while Tristin Rollins (Brookhaven) and Robert Adcock (Brookhaven) fell in two doubles, 1-8, with Simon Cooper (Sumrall) and Mason Brand (Mantee) dropped three doubles at 3-8.

In the singles matches, Altas dropped one singles (0-6, 0-3 retired) while Bucek fell in a tight two singles match (6-4, 3-6, 8-10) while Adcock dropped three singles 1-6 and 3-6. In four singles, Brand lost by identical 1-6 set scores while Cooper dropped a tight five singles match at 3-6 and 4-6 with Jax Leggett (Bogue Chitto) dropping the six singles match at 2-6 and 1-6.

Both teams are now 3-4 overall, 3-3 in MACCC play, and will return to action on the road this weekend at the Southwest JUCO Invitational in Tyler, Texas. Both teams will being their weekends on Friday, March 14 as the Lady Wolves will play Tyler Junior College at 9 a.m., while the Wolves will face off against Collin County Community College at Noon.
