
Tennis Drops Matches to Bobcats
ELLISVILLE – The Co-Lin Men's and Women's Tennis teams hit the road for the next MACCC matches facing off against Jones on Tuesday, March 25. The Bobcats won both matches by identical 8-1 scores.
In the women's match, the Lady Wolves got their lone point in the doubles matches as Georgina Labusch (Verl, Germany) and Sophie Sisson (Moss Point) won two doubles, 8-4. Yariange Bello (Caracas, Venezuela) and Munashe Bera (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) dropped one doubles, 0-8, while Ann-Clark Van (Jayess) and Allie Grace McNeill (Brookhaven) lost three doubles, 2-8.
In the singles matches the Bobcats swept as Bello lost, 0-6 7-6(5) 3-2 (retired) while Bera dropped two singles at 1-6 and 0-6. Labusch lost three singles, 2-6 and 4-6, while Sisson fell at four singles, 0-6 and 1-6. Van dropped five singles with a pair of 1-6 sets with McNeill falling at six singles with a pair of 3-6 sets.
In the men's match, the Wolves got their lone point in the doubles matches as Ege Altas (Istanbul, Turkey) and Jake Bucek (Geelong, Australia) won one doubles, 8-4. Robert Adcock (Brookhaven) and Tristin Rollins (Brookhaven) lost two doubles, 1-8, while Mason Brand (Mantee) and Simon Cooper (Sumrall) dropped three doubles, 2-8.
In the singles matches, Altas lost one singles, 4-6 and 2-6, while Bucek lost two singles, 1-6 and 7-5, with Adcock falling at three singles, 5-7 and 4-6. Brand lost four singles 2-6 and 1-6, Cooper dropped five singles at 1-6 and 2-6 while Jax Leggett (Bogue Chitto) forced a tiebreaker set in six singles but could not get the win at 3-6 1-6 1-0 (10-5).
The Lady Wolves are 3-10 overall, 3-5 in MACCC play, while the Wolves are now 6-8 overall, 5-4 in MACCC play. Both teams will return to action for their final home game and conference game of the season on Tuesday, April 1, hosting Northeast as both teams will celebrate Sophomore Day during the matches.
