Hannah Walls tabbed MACJC Player of the Week

JACKSON, Miss. – For the second time in as many weeks, a Copiah-Lincoln Community College softball player earned statewide honors. Hannah Walls, a freshman from Crystal Springs, Miss., was unanimously named MACJC Player of the Week after a stellar week at the plate. The freshman infielder got five hits in seven at-bats against the Holmes Lady Bulldogs in Co-Lin's dominating 8-1 and 13-1 victories. Walls posted two singles, two doubles, and a home run as she drove in a team-best five runs. She finished the week with a .714 batting average, .750 on base percentage, and a staggering 1.429 slugging percentage.

"I'm honored to be recognized for playing a sport that I love so much," said Walls. "I'm so thankful I get to take the field with such great teammates and coaches that push me to do my best."

Co-Lin is back in action tomorrow, Wednesday, February 13, as Co-Lin travels to Summit to take on the Lady Bears in game one of the Coca-Cola Challenge and to face No. 3 LSU Eunice. Games are slated for 3 and 5 p.m. starts.
