Blanchard Named NJCAA Division II All-American
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – More postseason awards have rolled in for the Co-Lin Softball Team as the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announced their All-Americans on Tuesday, June 7. The Lady Wolves saw one of their listed as one of the 39 athletes to earn the honor as sophomore pitcher Cera Blanchard was named a First Team All-American.
The Metairie, Louisiana native had a sophomore season for the record books in 2022. The Southeastern Louisiana commit finished the season with a 1.37 earned run average allowing 55 runs, 37 earned, on 131 hits with 56 walks. Blanchard finished the season 25-6 setting a single season record for wins and had 183 strikeouts in 189.1 innings pitched (both marks are Top-5 for a single season) through 33 appearances which is also a Top-5 single season mark.
This award comes in addition to the First Team All-MACCC, All-Region 23, First Team NFCA NJCAA DII All-South Region, First Team NFCA NJCAA DII All-American, and the MACCC Pitcher of the Year honors for Blanchard for her performance in the 2022 season.
The Lady Wolves finished the 2022 season with a 42-10 overall record, setting a single season record for wins, while also winning the first conference championship since 2009 and earned the number one ranking in the NJCAA Division II Softball poll for the first time in program history.
