Rose and Hinkson tabbed as MACJC All-State

WESSON – Freshman Brittany Rose and sophomore Tenazhia Hinkson received All-State honors as both came off stellar seasons. The duo led the Lady Wolves to a 20-5 record and were instrumental in securing head coach Gwyn Young's 900th career victory.  

Rose, a Jackson, Miss. native, received first team honors as she led Co-Lin with 15.2 points per game. Rose started in 24 games and shot 44.8 percent from the floor and 35.8 percent from beyond the arch.

Hinkson, a Pearl, Miss. native, finished the year with 10.9 points per game, while shooting 43.3 percent from the floor, and 37.9 percent from three-point range. Hinkson started in 23 games, but saw action in all 25. Hinkson's standout season landed her second team recognition and an All-Star bid. 

First Team All-State: Shelby Wilbanks of Northeast, Tyeisha Juhan of East Mississippi, Quantesha Patterson of East Mississippi, Jabria Pounds of Itawamba, Lakeiya Lane of Northeast, Alexis Tolefree of Jones County, Brittany Rose of Co-Lin, Octavia Barnes of Hinds, Tatyana Lofton of Jones County, and Nique Cherry of Jones County. 

Second Team All-State: Autumn Taylor of East Central, Alissa Adams of Southwest, Twila Hill of Hinds, Tenazhia Hinkson of Co-Lin, Myyah West of Jones County, Marlee Hatcher of Itwamba, Averyale Joy of Northwest, Kamelia Lacoy of Holmes, Melvinisha Jenkins of Coahoma, and Aundrea Adams of Northeast.
