Holt and Callahan tabbed MACJC All-Stars

WESSON, Miss. – Alexus Holt and Karry Callahan were named MACJC All-Stars this week after leading the Lady Wolves to runner-up honors in both the MACJC State Championship and the NJCAA Region XXIII Championship. The sophomore pair is invited to play in the MACJC All-Star game in Decatur, Miss. on the campus of East Central Community College. Tipoff for the contest is set for Friday, April 13 at 5 p.m. Admission to the game will be $8 for adults and $5 for students.

Holt, a sophomore point guard from Epps, La., was the Lady Wolves' lead on and off the floor this past season. She saw action in 27 games this season and averaged 15.7 points per game while shooting 41.8 percent from the floor. She was also second on the team in rebounding with 158 boards. The point guard had a team 94 assists on the year and an assist to turnover ratio of 2.1. Holt also led the Lady Wolves with 80 steals on the season.

Callahan, a sophomore from Vicksburg, Miss., is a tenacious player that will out hustle everyone on the floor. She led the Lady Wolves with 216 rebounds and averaged eight boards a game. The Vicksburg High School graduate shot 41.1 percent from the floor and averaged eight points a contest. Callahan had 44 blocks, second-most on the team, and 42 steals on the year.
