Lady Wolves Beat Lady Bears On The Road

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Co-Lin Women's Basketball team returned to action with a road contest against Baton Rouge on Monday, November 21. The Lady Wolves beat the Lady Bears by a final of 76-66.

The Lady Wolves used a strong first quarter to jump out to a 25-14 lead over the Lady Bears. The Lady Bears then outscored the Lady Wolves, 13-12, in the second quarter; however, the Lady Wolves maintained a 37-27 lead as the teams entered the locker rooms at halftime.

The Lady Wolves then outscored the Lady Bears, 19-17, in the third quarter to increase their lead to 56-44. The Lady Bears then outscored the Lady Wolves, 22-20, in the final quarter; however, the Lady Wolves lead would not be overcome as they secured the 76-66 victory.

The Lady Wolves saw all five starters hit double-digit scoring figures as sophomore guard Zykeria Anderson (Edwards) led the team with 20 points. Sophomore guard Leilani Lewis (Baton Rouge, LA) and sophomore forward Kiersten Ball (Louisville) had 13 points each while sophomore guards Tandria Minor (Brandon) and Ayanna McNairy had 12 and 11 points respectively. Ball led the Lady Wolves in rebounds with nine while Minor led the team in assists with seven.

Sophomore forward Jamey McDaniel (Summit) had three points while freshman forward Ceara Myers (Baton Rouge, LA) and freshman guard A'Shante Fleming (Canton) had two points each to round out the scoring for the Lady Wolves.

Co-Lin improves to 6-1 overall and will return to action with a home contest against Southwest on Thursday, December 1. Tip-off between the Lady Bears and the Lady Wolves is set for 6:00 p.m., at Mullen Gym in Wesson.
