Lady Wolves Drop Contest to Lady Bobcats

WESSON – The Co-Lin Women's Basketball returned to action with a conference matchup against Jones on Thursday, January 19. The Lady Bobcats beat the Lady Wolves by a final of 87-58.

The Lady Bobcats used a big first quarter to jump out to a 27-18 lead at the end of play. The Lady Bobcats then outscored the Lady Wolves, 22-15, to hold a 49-33 lead as the teams went to the locker rooms at halftime.

The Lady Bobcats continued to flex their muscles as they outscored the Lady Wolves, 18-12, to hold a 67-45 lead going into the final quarter. The Lady Bobcats then added 20 points in the fourth while holding the Lady Wolves to 13 points to secure the 87-58 win.

Sophomore guard Zykeria Anderson (Edwards) led the Lady Wolves and tied for the game lead in points with 19 while adding five rebounds and two steals. Sophomore guard Leilani Lewis (Baton Rouge, La.) had 15 points with three rebounds, one assist, and two steals.

Sophomore guard Ayanna McNairy (Brookhaven) had seven points and led the Lady Wolves in reobunds with six along with two assists and one steal. Freshman forward Ceara Myers (Baton Rouge, La.) had six points, freshman guard A'Shante Fleming (Canton) had five points, sophomore forward Jamey McDaniel (Summit) had four points, and freshman forward Kyla Farmer (Conehatta) had two points to round out the scoring for the Lady Wolves.

Co-Lin falls to 12-3 overall, 2-2 in conference play and will return to action with a road contest against Mississippi Delta on Monday, January 23. Tip-off between the Lady Wolves and the Lady Trojans is set for 6:00 p.m., at J.T. Hall Coliseum in Moorhead.
