Lady Wolves Stumble Against Lady Indians

FULTON – The Co-Lin Women's Basketball team returned to action with a road contest against Itawamba on Monday, February 13. The Lady Indians beat the Lady Wolves, 76-61.

The Lady Wolves and Lady Indians were tied at the end of play in the first quarter as the score stood at 13-13. The second quarter proved to be a big one for the Lady Indians as they outscored the Lady Wolves, 21-13, and took a 34-26 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The third quarter saw the Lady Wolves outscore the Lady Indians, 20-19, to cut the lead down to 53-46. However, the Lady Indians outscored the Lady Wolves in the fourth and final quarter of play, 23-15, to secure the 76-61 win.

Sophomore guard Tandria Minor (Brandon) led the way for the Lady Wolves with 19 points along with a team-leading seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Sophomore guards Zykeria Anderson (Edwards) and Leilani Lewis (Baton Rouge, La.) had nine points each while sophomore forward Kiersten Ball (Louisville) had eight points.

Sophomore guard Ayanna McNairy (Brookhaven) had seven points, freshman forward Ceara Myers (Baton Rouge, La.) had five points, and freshman guard A'Shante Fleming (Canton) had four points to round out the scoring for the Lady Wolves.

Co-Lin is now 16-6 overall, 6-5 in conference play, and will return to action hosting Meridian on Thursday, February 16. Tip-off between the Lady Eagles and the Lady Wolves is set for 6:00 p.m., at Mullen Gym in Wesson.
