Lady Wolves Stumble Against Pearl River

WESSON – The Co-Lin Women's Soccer team continued South Division play with a contest against Pearl River Community College on Tuesday, September 21. The Lady Wildcats earned a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over the Lady Wolves.

The lone goal for the Lady Wolves came midway through the first half as sophomore forward Taylor Ford (Florence) found separation from the Lady Wildcats defense and found the back of the net on the breakaway with an assist from freshman defender Jessie Heflin (Florence).

The Lady Wolves held on to the 1-0 lead throughout the remainder of the first half, but the Lady Wildcats wasted little time tying the game in the second half as they scored in the 57th minute and then scored their second goal in the 74th minute. The Lady Wildcats stifled the Lady Wolves attack and sealed the 2-1 win.

Sophomore goalkeeper Alexandra Moon (Poynton with Worth, England) made three saves on five shots on goal throughout the match.

The Lady Wolves are now 1-5-0 overall and 1-3-0 in South Division play and will return to action with a road contest against Jones College on Friday, September 24. The action on the pitch will kickoff at 5 p.m.
