Lady Wolves Blanked By Lady Rangers

SENATOBIA – The Co-Lin Women's soccer team returned to action with a road match against Northwest Mississippi on Friday, October 14. The Lady Rangers shutout the Lady Wolves with a 2-0 win.

"It was always going to be a tough task to go up to Northwest and get a result against a very strong side," said Co-Lin head coach Tom Cosgrave.

The Lady Rangers got on the board early in the first half finding the back of the net in the 15th minute to take a 1-0 lead which stood throughout the remainder of the first half. The second goal for the Lady Rangers came in the 54th minute to increase their lead to 2-0 and stalled out the Lady Wolves attack to secure the win.

"We started the game really well but struggled to handle their constant pressure," stated Cosgrave. "We worked hard defensively but couldn't quite get going in the second half in the attack."

Sophomore goalkeeper Alex Moon (Poynton with Worth, England) saved 13 of 15 shots on goal throughout the match.

"We will regroup and get ready for a hard week next week with two very tough opponents," added Cosgrave.

Co-Lin falls to 10-2-1 overall, 5-2 in conference play, and returns to action for their regular season home finale against Jones on Tuesday, October 18. The action on the pitch between the Lady Bobcats and the Lady Wolves will kickoff at 6:30 p.m., at Stone Stadium. The Lady Wolves will celebrate Sophomore Day between the women's and men's matches.
