Moon Sets New Career High in Lady Wolves Draw

POPLARVILLE – The Co-Lin Women's Soccer team took to the road to face off against Pearl River on Friday, October 21. The Lady Wolves and Lady Wildcats played 110 minutes with the match ending in a 0-0 draw.

The Lady Wolves had limited scoring chances forcing two saves on three shots by the Lady Wildcats keeper throughout the match.

The performance of the match for the Lady Wolves belonged to sophomore goalkeeper Alex Moon (Poynton with Worth, England) as she faced 27 shots on goal and saved all of them. For Moon, the 27 saves are a new career and season high eclipsing the career mark of 23 set in a match against Gulf Coast on October 19, 2021, while the new season high eclipses the 17 saves she had on the road against Holmes on October 4.

"Pearl River is always a tough place to come play on the road and our girls defended excellently tonight," stated Co-Lin head coach Tom Cosgrave. "Alex was unbelievable in the goal during this match as she made save after save for us."

Co-Lin is now 10-2-3 overall, 5-2-2 in conference play, and will wrap up the regular season on the road at Meridian on Tuesday, October 25. The action on the pitch between the Lady Eagles and Lady Wolves kicks off at 7:00 p.m., in Meridian.
