Lady Wolves End Historic Season With Loss to Lady Wildcats

POPLARVILLE – The Lady Wolves took to the road to face off against Pearl River in the Gulf South District Tournament quarterfinals. The Lady Wildcats beat the Lady Wolves by a final of 1-0.

Neither team scored in the first half as the Lady Wolves had more scoring chances than the Lady Wildcats, but great play from both opposing goalkeepers kept the game scoreless throughout the half.

The Lady Wildcats broke the scoreless tie with a penalty kick goal in the 58th minute and then held the Lady Wolves to one shot on goal and four shots overall in the final 32 minutes of the match to secure the 1-0 win.

Sophomore goalkeeper Alex Moon (Poynton with Worth, England) saved 13 of 14 shots on goal faced throughout the match. Moon finished the season with 124 saves, an 89.2 save percentage, and a 0.97 goals against average allowing just 15 goals scored in 17 games played.

Co-Lin finishes the season 10-4-3 overall.
