Lady Wolves Play to a Draw Against Lady Bulldogs

PERKINSTON – The Co-Lin Women's Soccer team returned to MACCC action with a road contest against Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College on Tuesday, September 19. The Lady Wolves and Lady Bulldogs ended the match in a 1-1 tie.

The Lady Wolves got on the board first early in the match as Charlie Cooper (Corby, England) finished off a cross from Alisa Johnson (Leakesville) beating the Lady Bulldogs keeper for a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute of the match. The Lady Wolves continued to attack the Lady Bulldogs to increase the lead but could not find another goal as the 1-0 lead stood at halftime.

The Lady Bulldogs then turned up the pressure on the Lady Wolves in the second half. The Lady Wolves maintained the lead despite the heavy pressure; however, the Lady Bulldogs were able to tie the game with a goal in the 86th minute of the match. The game resulted in a draw as neither team was able to find the back of the net again for the lead.

Lara Dorfel (Munich, Germany) had an outstanding performance in goal saving ten of 11 shots faced throughout the match.

Co-Lin is now 4-2-1 overall and 1-0-1 in conference play and will return to action with their home opener against East Mississippi on Friday, September 22. The action on the pitch between the Lady Lions and the Lady Wolves is set to kickoff at 1 p.m. in Wesson.
