Lady Wolves Drop Contest to Lady Indians

FULTON – The Co-Lin Women's Soccer team resumed MACCC play with a road contest against Itawamba on Tuesday, October 3. The Lady Indians beat the Lady Wolves, 5-1.

The Lady Wolves could not take advantage of early scoring chances in the first half as the Lady Indians scored three goals in the final 25 minutes of the half to take a 3-0 lead at halftime.

Avery Rankin (Brandon) scored the lone goal for the Lady Wolves on a penalty kick in the 66th minute to cut the lead down to 3-1. However, the Lady Indians responded with two more goals in the second half and stalled out the Lady Wolves offense to secure the 5-1 win.

Lara Dorfel (Munich, Germany) saved eight of 13 shots on goal faced throughout the match.

Co-Lin is now 6-4-1 overall, 3-2-1 in conference play, and will return to action hosting Meridian on Friday, October 6. The action on the pitch between the Lady Eagles and Lady Wolves will kick off at Noon at H.L. Stone Stadium in Wesson.
