Lady Wolves Drop Match to Lady Bulldogs

WESSON – The Co-Lin Women's Soccer team returned to conference action hosting No. 3 Holmes on Friday, October 13. The Lady Bulldogs beat the Lady Wolves, 4-1.

The Lady Bulldogs scored goals in the seventh, 11th, and 23rd minutes while holding the Lady Wolves to just one shot in the first half. The Lady Bulldogs held a 3-0 lead as the horn sounded for halftime.

The Lady Wolves looked to seize some momentum early in the second half as Keely Marshall (Madison) headed in a ball off a corner kick from Emmi Cook (Chesterfield, England) to cut the lead down to 3-1 in the 52nd minute. However, the Lady Bulldogs regained their three-goal lead in the 55th minute making the score, 4-1, and then allowed just one more shot for the remainder of the game for the Lady Wolves to secure the win.

Lara Dorfel (Munich, Germany) saved eight of 12 shots on goal faced throughout the match.

Co-Lin moves to 7-5-1 overall, 4-3-1 in conference play, and will return to action hosting No. 1 Northwest on Tuesday, October 17. The action between the Lady Rangers and the Lady Wolves kicks off on the pitch in H.L. Stone Stadium at 1 p.m.
