Lady Wolves Drop Final Home Match Against Lady Wildcats

WESSON – The Co-Lin Women's Soccer team wrapped up the home portion of the regular season with a match against Pearl River. The No. 13 Lady Wildcats beat the No. 17 Lady Wolves, 2-0.

The Lady Wolves and Lady Wildcats had strong defensive showings for the majority of the first half as both teams stalled out the potential attacking chances early. However, the Lady Wildcats broke through with a goal in the 30th minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Lady Wildcats continue to stifle the Lady Wolves to maintain their lead through halftime.

The Lady Wildcats added a second goal in the 47th minute to increase their lead to 2-0. The Lady Wolves had several scoring opportunities throughout the second half but could not find the back of the net for a goal as the Lady Wildcats earned the 2-0 win.

Lara Dorfel (Munich, Germany) saved 12 of 14 shots on goal faced throughout the match.

Co-Lin is now 7-7-1 overall, 4-5-1 in MACCC play, and will wrap up the regular season against East Central on Tuesday, October 24. The action on the pitch between the Lady Wolves and the Lady Warriors kicks off at 5 p.m., in Decatur.
