Lady Wolves Season Ends With Loss in Region 23 Quarterfinals

SENATOBIA – The Co-Lin Women's Soccer team earned a postseason berth for the second straight season and made a road trip to Senatobia to face off against Northwest Mississippi. The No. 3 Lady Rangers beat the Lady Wolves, 7-0.

The Lady Wolves got off to a slow start and found themselves facing a quick two-goal deficit as the Lady Rangers scored in the second and third minutes. However, the Lady Wolves then played strong defense throughout the remainder of the first half while also putting offensive pressure on the Lady Rangers. The Lady Wolves pressure resulted in three shots, two on goal, but neither would find the back of the net as the score remained 2-0 at halftime.

The second half saw the Lady Rangers score five goals in 12 minutes while the Lady Wolves offensive attempts were stalled out by the Lady Rangers defense en route to the 7-0 win.

Lara Dorfel (Munich, Germany) saved 12 of 19 shots on goal faced in almost 82 minutes of play in the match. Maelee Thibodeaux (Brookhaven) played the final eight minutes of the match but did not face any shots on goal.

Co-Lin finishes the season with an overall record of 7-8-2, 4-5-2 in conference play.
