Lady Wolves capture first win over Itawamba

WESSON, Mississippi - The Copiah-Lincoln Community College Lady Wolves picked up their first win of the season defeating the Itawamba Community College Lady Indians 7-2 

"The girls had a great day and picked up a big win," said Co-Lin head coach Dana Hale. "Solid play at every position and Susana Patio continues to be a force at No. 1 doubles and singles."

In doubles action, No. 1 Susana Patino/Madison Shows defeated Gaia Del Sordo/Leri Kent 8-5. Co-Lin's Britany Barnett/Gracee Warren beat Brianna Ball/Brianna Hibbler 8-3. ICC's Madelyn Angie/Addison Smith outlasted Morgan Brister/Gracie Phillips 8-6.

The Lady Wolves won five out of six singles matches. Pitano defeated ICC's Del Sordo 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1. Madison Shows beat Lexi Kent in three sets 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 at No. 2, Gracie Phillips disposed of Sydney Ferguson 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 and Gracee Warren beat Addison Smith 6-1, 6-2. The lone singles win for ICC was at No. 4 as Madelyn Angie defeated Britany Barnett 6-3, 2-6, 1-0. 

Co-Lin travels to Meridian on Friday with matches starting at 2 p.m.
