Wolves earn postseason honors

JACKSON, Mississippi – Six members of the Co-Lin baseball team earned 2021 Mississippi Association of Community College Conference All-Conference honors. Named Second Team All-Conference were infielder Tom Biggs, utility player Marquez Hudson and pitcher Peyton Parker. Capturing Honorable Mention All-Conference were infielder Kenner Bizot, outfielder Will-Lawson Harkins and pitcher Jacob Spinks.

Biggs, a red-shirt freshman from Columbia, Louisiana, led the team in batting average (.360), hits (50) and on base percentage (.444). He was second on the team with RBIs (32) and stolen bases (13). The West Monroe High School product had eight doubles and a slugging percentage of .482. Biggs made three appearances as a pitcher with an ERA of 3.68.

Right fielder/third baseman Hudson had a stellar sophomore campaign leading the Wolves in RBIs (40), slugging percentage (.594), home runs (11) and walks (21). The Lawrence County product batted .286, had 38 hits and six doubles.

Parker finished up his stint with the Wolves playing a dual role as third baseman and right-handed pitcher. At the plate, the West Ouachita High School product led the Wolves in doubles (12) and stolen bases (14). He was second in home runs (7) and slugging percentage (.507) and third with RBIs (29) and on base percentage (.395). On the mound Parker was 2-3 on the season with an earned run average of 5.09. In 10 starts this season, he led the Wolves with five complete games, innings pitched (58.1) and had two saves.

Bizot was second on the team with a .316 batting average and third on the team with 42 hits. The freshman first baseman from Wesson had a .414 slugging percentage and 25 RBIs.

Harkins was second on the team in hits (44) and doubles (9). The freshman from Carthage batted in the lead-off spot all season. He had a .386 slugging percentage and 15 RBIs.

Spinks, a Monterey High School product, started 12 games for the Wolves. The freshman right-hander had a 5-3 record with a 6.55 ERA. He was third on the team in strikeouts and logged 55 innings.
