
Trio of Wolves Nab All-MACCC Honors
JACKSON – The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) released the baseball All-MACCC honorees on Wednesday, May 21. The Wolves had three members take home honors as outfielder Tucker Jones (Brandon) was named First Team All-MACCC while pitcher Jennings Kimbrell (Florence) and infielder Trey Davidson (Brandon) were named Honorable Mention All-MACCC.
Tucker Jones had a superb sophomore season as he led the Wolves in batting average at .372, tied for fifth highest in the MACCC, led the team in triples with five (second in the MACCC), and tied for the team lead in home runs with seven which was a Top 15 mark in the conference. Jones had the fourth most hits and doubles on the team with 55 and six respectively and was second on the team in RBIs with 38. He also led the Wolves in stolen bases with 34 which was third most in the MACCC and scored the fourth most runs with 41 while also leading the team in on-base percentage at .459 and slugging percentage at .622. Jones posted a perfect fielding percentage with 98 putouts and one assist while being part of one double play.
Jennings Kimbrell had an outstanding freshmen season as he led the team in wins with 11, second in the MACCC, while leading the in innings pitched at 80 which was third most in the conference. Kimbrell allowed 33 runs, 30 earned, on 81 hits with 23 walks and 50 strikeouts, the second most strikeouts on the team. His 3.38 earned run average also led the team and was a Top 15 mark in the MACCC.
Trey Davidson had a fantastic freshman season for the Wolves as he posted the second highest batting average at .344 while leading the team in hits with 69 with the hits being a Top 5 mark in the MACCC. He was second on the team in doubles with nine and third in home runs with four while tying for the team lead in RBIs with 45 and second in runs scored with 44. His 45 RBIs were a Top 15 mark in the conference. Davidson led the team in walks drawn with 23 and was third in stolen bases with 16 while posting a .423 on-base percentage (second highest on the team) and a .448 slugging percentage. He posted a .948 fielding percentage with 43 putouts, 102 assists, eight errors, and was part of 14 double plays on the season.
